Spoon with a Hole
Clay, glass, water, glazed porcelain
Soo Kim
A bowl crafted from Chicago's soil carries water and a spoon. As water leaks through the spoon, the bowl catches what can't be contained. This interaction between vessel, utensil, and fluid embodies the tension between grasping and letting go. The displacement of water echoes the movement of bodies and cultures across geopolitical boundaries, inviting reflection upon migration and adaptation.
